Why do you require a Travel Document?
The High Commission in collaboration with the Maldives Immigration provides temporary travel document to Maldivians who do not have a passport to travel back to Maldives. Usually Travel documents are issued for new-born babies, and for those who have their passport lost or stolen.
Duration
Upon submission of application, the High Commission will issue the travel document within 10 working days if all the necessary application requirements are met. Certificate of Identity is valid for 15 days from the date of issue.
Photo
Applicant must provide a photo that complies with the Immigration guidelines. Further details:

Application Requirements
- Service Request Form of High Commission:
- Maldives Immigration Form (IM32):
- Birth Certificate (in case of new born)
- Marriage Certificate (in case of new born)
- Passport of both parents (in case of new born)
- Sri Lanka Police Report (in case of lost passport)
- Confirmed flight ticket
Notes:
- Certificates of Identity are ONLY issued to fly back to Maldives.
